INFO
Refuge Island is a four-piece Indie Punk band, from Kilwinning, Scotland.
On a dark grim night in November 2017, four guys in Ayrshire decided to take refuge in an Indie punk sound. The rain was lashing but the sound was bold and electric, and the Refuge Island sparks were started.
With big raspy vocals and deep lyrics from Wullie RI, booming tones from John Martin on the bass guitar, power chord changes from Darren and a fast tempo from Steven, the Refuge Island concept is raw and will make your ears prick up to listen.
They released their second single "Fighting In The Disco" on the 29th March, along with a video, and is available in all major online stores, and has been played by many radio stations across the UK and abroad.
More recordings are in production and these will be released during 2019.
They have supported many bands such as False Heads, The Black Delta Movement and Brownbear, and have played their first festival (twice) "Live at Troon" and also Scotlands prestigious King Tuts. They are booked to play Butefest in July.
Influenced by the Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Libertines, The Stooges, False Heads, Trampoline and Slaves to name a few, the band is working hard on new music and will be touring across the UK in 2019.
